Being Good Versus Being Human

The better you are, that is to say, the better you act, the less human you become. Humans will ridicule you accordingly and accuse you of all kinds of evil, because you remind them of what they actually ought to be and do. For being human comprises being selfish, self-centred (qualatively different from being selfish), (wilfully) ignorant, intolerant, and, as though all this were not enough, proud of it. Therefore, the more ridicule and accusations you will put up against me, the less you will treat me as a fellow human, the prouder I shall become, since by doing so, you will confirm that I have not become what I most loathe.
